An AI-Made Song Hit No. 1 on iTunes Global Charts
PLUS: Flash robot beats the human half-marathon record and Canva relaunches as AI-native
This doesn’t require hiding — it works because iTunes download charts operate on different rules than streaming. The question isn’t whether AI can make chart-ready music; it’s whether the platforms tracking music culture are ready to handle what’s already happening.
In Today’s AI:
AI music hits No. 1 on iTunes globally
Flash robot beats the human half-marathon world record
Canva relaunches as an AI-native design platform
The IT strategy every team needs for 2026
2026 will redefine IT as a strategic driver of global growth. Automation, AI-driven support, unified platforms, and zero-trust security are becoming standard, especially for distributed teams. This toolkit helps IT and HR leaders assess readiness, define goals, and build a scalable, audit-ready IT strategy for the year ahead. Learn what’s changing and how to prepare.
What’s new? IngaRose, an AI-constructed artist persona created using Suno AI, debuted “Celebrate Me” on March 31 and climbed to No. 1 on iTunes Global Charts on April 17 — topping download rankings in the US, UK, France, New Zealand, and Canada.
What matters?
iTunes download charts operate separately from Spotify and Billboard’s streaming-based rankings, meaning AI-generated tracks can chart rapidly through bulk purchases without dominating the streams that typically gatekeep commercial music recognition.
IngaRose’s Instagram bio openly discloses the AI-generated nature of the music — yet the song climbed without any platform intervention, revealing that Apple’s download charts have no mechanism to label or filter AI-generated content.
Dallas Little, the South Carolina producer behind the project, built IngaRose as part of a wave of AI-persona projects in 2026 — following a prior AI artist, Eddie Dalton, who similarly reached the top of iTunes charts earlier this year.
Why it matters?
Music platforms haven’t built systems to distinguish AI-generated releases from human-made ones in their charts. As tools like Suno make professional-sounding tracks accessible to anyone, chart rankings are becoming less about who wrote the best song and more about who understands how the system works.
GUIDE
What’s new? A humanoid robot named Flash completed the Beijing E-Town Half Marathon in 50 minutes and 26 seconds — over 6 minutes faster than the existing human world record of 57:20, finishing all 13.1 miles while running alongside hundreds of human participants.
What matters?
Flash carried a dry-ice cooling backpack to regulate its motors throughout the race and made multiple F1-style pit stops for battery swaps — completing the course without failure while several competing robots fell apart at the starting line.
This is the first documented case of a humanoid robot finishing a full half-marathon course alongside human runners in a public race, rather than in a controlled lab or demonstration environment.
Flash’s performance signals a real benchmark shift: robots are no longer limited to short bursts of impressive movement — it sustained coordinated bipedal locomotion at competitive pace across 13 miles.
Why it matters?
A robot finishing a half-marathon faster than any human ever has moves the goalposts on what physical AI can sustain. For robotics companies working on delivery, manufacturing, and physical creative installations, this kind of public milestone reshapes what investors and developers expect to be possible.

What’s new? Canva unveiled AI 2.0 at Canva Create 2026, repositioning from a “design platform with AI tools” to an “AI platform with design tools” — featuring layer-level generation, a custom Canva Design Model trained on millions of actual edit sequences, and native integrations with Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini.
What matters?
The Canva Design Model was trained on design action sequences, not just finished outputs — allowing it to explain its reasoning when interpreting vague requests like “make this feel more premium” or “add tension in the negative space.”
Canva’s 2024 acquisition of Leonardo.ai now powers Canva AI 2.0’s element generation, producing fully editable vector layers rather than flat raster images.
The AI Connector feature lets users route outputs from any major AI model — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot — directly into Canva as the “last mile” where AI-generated ideas become publishable work.
Why it matters?
Canva’s pivot is less about adding AI features and more about staking a claim on where the creative workflow ends. As Claude Design targets rapid prototyping and Figma adds its own AI layer, Canva is betting that its mass-market reach makes it the default destination for AI-generated content that needs to ship.
