ImagineArt just told its 3.5 million users that generating images and video isn’t the endgame anymore. Its new Imagine Computer takes a single instruction and turns it into research, copy, visuals, and even a finished website — no more juggling five different apps to get one project done.

It’s a bet that the next wave of AI value isn’t better outputs, but fewer steps between an idea and something shipped. Whether that holds up once real budgets and deadlines are on the line is the open question — plenty of “agentic” launches this year have looked great in a demo and shakier in daily use.

Today in AI:
  • ImagineArt debuts Imagine Computer, its agentic workspace

  • Ex-OpenAI/Midjourney researcher launches Energy desktop agent

  • Unitree prices its $9B humanoid robot IPO

What’s new? ImagineArt launched Imagine Computer, an agentic AI workspace that pushes the company past pure content generation into a system that plans and finishes multi-step creative and business tasks on its own.

What matters?

  • A single instruction now flows into research, writing, image and video generation, slide decks, spreadsheets, and even a finished website, instead of the user hopping between separate tools for each piece.

  • The workspace’s memory system keeps brand guidelines and project context between sessions, and the announcement frames the goal as letting users state an objective rather than pick a tool.

  • ImagineArt already counts 3.5 million monthly active users, giving the agentic pivot an existing base of creators and marketers to test on right away.

Why it matters?

Agentic AI has mostly lived in coding tools and search assistants so far — ImagineArt is betting creative and marketing work is the next place AI systems finish the job instead of just drafting it. If Imagine Computer holds up outside a demo, it could pull budget away from the growing stack of single-purpose creative apps.

GUIDE

What’s new? Gabriel Petersson, who previously worked as a researcher at both OpenAI and Midjourney, launched Energy, a downloadable desktop agent that operates a real browser signed into a user’s own accounts to finish multi-step tasks end to end.

What matters?

  • Five specialized assistants ship at launch — Inbox Zero, Sales Master, Research Scout, Project Captain, and Finance Keeper — each built around a different category of recurring work.

  • Energy connects to everyday tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Slack, and Outlook, then hands back a finished result with an audit trail so users can check what it actually did.

  • Petersson left OpenAI about three months before the launch, after contributing to projects including Sora 2, betting that models are already capable enough — the tools wrapped around them just aren’t simple enough yet.

Why it matters?

Desktop agents that can click, type, and read across a real browser session are still rare outside big-lab prototypes, and Petersson’s résumé — OpenAI’s video work, Midjourney’s image work — gives Energy unusual credibility with this audience. Whether it can be trusted with a real inbox and calendar, unsupervised, decides if tools like this go mainstream or stay a novelty.

What’s new? China’s Unitree priced its Shanghai IPO at roughly $9 billion, making it the country’s first mainland-listed humanoid robot maker as US-China tech tensions keep escalating.

What matters?

  • Unitree is selling 40.45 million shares — 10% of its enlarged capital — at 150.8 yuan ($22.34) apiece, aiming to raise 6.1 billion yuan (about $849 million) for robot software, hardware, and a new manufacturing base.

  • Humanoid robots overtook Unitree’s four-legged robots as its largest business line in 2025, even as first-quarter profit fell 52.6% on heavier R&D and marketing spending.

  • Chinese AI lab DeepSeek took a strategic stake worth roughly 141 million yuan, with the two companies agreeing to jointly develop AI models for humanoid robots.

Why it matters?

A $9 billion valuation for a robot maker that shipped roughly 5,500 humanoid units last year says investors are pricing in years of future growth, not current sales. With US tariffs and purchase restrictions already flagged as a risk factor, and Unitree pulling over a tenth of its 2025 revenue from American customers, the IPO doubles as a stress test for how far China’s robotics boom can run under trade pressure.
